We recently completed a 3D laser scanning and as-built documentation project for a mine extraction ventilation system. The scope of work included the extraction fan, ducting, fan housing, evase, and self-closing doors.

Using high-accuracy laser scanning technology, we captured a detailed point cloud of the entire installation, creating an accurate digital representation of the existing infrastructure. The scan data was then processed and used to produce comprehensive as-built drawings that accurately reflected the current site conditions.

The completed documentation now provides a reliable engineering record of the ventilation system, supporting future maintenance, upgrades, inspections, and asset management activities. This project demonstrated how 3D laser scanning can deliver precise measurements, reduce the need for manual surveying, and provide high-quality data for critical mining infrastructure.
